In Memory of Bruce Bernard

Bruce Bernard, a member of the ICASIT team for four years, died in his sleep on March 17th, 1997 after a six year struggle with cancer. Bruce's spirit and attitude have been a powerful example for all of us who knew him. He possessed amazing computer skills, and even as an undergraduate was accepted into graduate classes, where he was equally successful. In May, 1997 a memorial tree was planted at George Mason University, honoring Bruce's indomitable spirit. For many of us who knew him well it will be difficult to realize that the tall young man with the baseball hat on backwards, who lifted our spirits so often, is no longer here. He will always be remembered.
