GK-AIMS (Global Knowledge Activity Information Management System)

GK-AIMS is a set of online tools which facilitates information sharing
on "who is doing what" and allows for greater collaboration among project
planners. As a result it acts as a central information resource for all those
interested in building the information, communications and knowledge resources
of developing countries. It includes organizational profiles, a projects database,
a document repository and an event calendar.
GKII (Global Knowledge Innovation Infrastructure)

GKII is an initiative of Entovation International and the Banff Center
for Management. The initiative includes training and research components meant
to "explore, create and develop ideas and possibilities, through an interactive
collaborative programme with researchers, theorists, practitioners and founding
sponsors."
Global Development Network

The Global Development Network (GDN) aims to enhance the quality and availability
of policy-oriented research and strengthen the institutions which undertake
this work. The GDN offers tools, services and networking opportunities to
help these institutions and their members join together to fight poverty.
An electronic discussion (ongoing in April 2000) has sought broad feedback
and inputs to develop a web strategy. The main idea is to develop a strategy
to use the web most effectively for collaboration, research and dissemination
of research findings for development purposes. For more information about

Global Knowledge Partnership (GKP)

The GKP has the following goals: 1) acquire knowledge, information and
technology that can improve peoples' lives; 2) obtain the tools of knowledge;
3) learn to use modern technologies. It is a partnership of public, private
and not-for-profit organizations that share the same mission. Partner organizations
are committed to sharing information, experiences and resources to promote
broad access to, and effective use of, knowledge and information as tools
of sustainable, equitable development. The GKP emerged from the Global Knowledge
97 Conference, "Knowledge for Development in the Information Age." The work
of the GKP is currently coordinated by a small secretariat located within
the World Bank Institute (WBI).

IICD Stories

The ICT Stories Project is a partnership between the International Institute
for Communication and Development (IICD) in The Hague and the World Bank's
InfoDev program. The objective of the initiative is to capture the learning
process that accompanies the introduction and implementation of ICTs for development.
The stories describe good practices and lessons learned from contributors'
experience.
Indigenous Knowledge Network

The IK-network aims at the sharing of information among various stakeholders

International Development Markup Language (IDML)

Learning for Development in the Information Age (LDIA)

LDIA is a Bellanet program that explores the process by which organizations
learn from their experience with information and communication technologies.
LDIA is also trying to capture and disseminate lessons learned and best practices
with regards to the use of ICTs. The site leads to a database of lessons learned
